Loic Remy wants Jose Mourinho to remain at Chelsea

Chelsea striker Loic Remy insists that Jose Mourinho remains the right man to manage the club.

Chelsea striker Loic Remy has stated that he wants Jose Mourinho to remain as the club's manager.

The Portuguese coach's future has been the subject of speculation following the Blues' slow start to their Premier League title defence, while their defence of the League Cup came to an end on Tuesday as Stoke City knocked them out in the fourth round.

It has been suggested that Mourinho will leave Stamford Bridge if Chelsea lose to Liverpool on Saturday, but Remy claims that would be a bad move from owner Roman Abramovich.

"It's important for him to stay and we don't want to give up," Remy told the London Evening Standard. "We were champions together only last season and he is a really great manager. Of course I don't want him to leave. I think all the players don't want that.

"I'm really sure that Saturday will be a big game, but we can still be in the top four of the League if we win games.

"The spirit is good and we are not affected by the situation. We will just keep training well. I'm sure the opportunity to win games will be here sooner rather than later, but obviously it is better for us if it is sooner."

Chelsea are 15th in the Premier League table ahead of this weekend's game with Liverpool.
