Agent: 'Chelsea target Edin Dzeko wants to stay at Roma'

Striker Edin Dzeko would rather stay at Roma than entertain a move to Chelsea, according to agent Irfan Redzepagic.

The agent of Edin Dzeko has claimed that the striker intends to remain at Roma, rather than entertaining a transfer to Chelsea.

On Thursday night, reports suggested that Blues head coach Antonio Conte had expressed a desire to sign the player, who has previously represented Manchester City in the Premier League.

However, while acknowledging that Conte "likes" the Bosnia and Herzegovina forward, Irfan Redzepagic does not expect any movement during the January transfer window.

Redzepagic told Romagiallorossa: "No, I don't know anything about this. I have no information to that effect. Dzeko is already a Roma player, you know that.

"Look, every time we talk about Dzeko the names of clubs like Chelsea, Chinese clubs, Mexican clubs come up. These are just rumours. The truth is that Dzeko wants to stay at Roma.

"Have I spoken to Conte or Chelsea? My role means I can't reveal certain transfer market dynamics. I understand the question, but I have a very specific role. All I can say is that Conte likes Dzeko. But then who doesn't like Edin?"

Dzeko has scored 12 goals in all competitions this season, two of which came against Chelsea in the Champions League in October.
