Chelsea are reportedly preparing to battle the likes of Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain for the signature of Brazilian teenager Reinier.
The 17-year-old has scored three times and contributed two assists in 10 appearances for Flamengo this season, having broken into the first team earlier this year.
Atletico were thought to be in a strong position to land the attacker, who is believed to have a release clause of £53.5m inserted into his current contract in Brazil.
However, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, Chelsea have now entered the race for the South American and are hopeful of beating a number of European clubs to a deal.
Reinier, who largely operates as an attacking midfielder, has also managed five goals in 10 appearances for Brazil's Under-17 outfit.
The Blues are currently banned from bringing new players to Stamford Bridge after breaching FIFA rules in relation to signing youth players, and the suspension is currently in place until next summer.
