Chelsea reportedly consider offering Fernando Torres back to former club Atletico Madrid in order to snatch £50m-rated star Falcao.

Chelsea are reportedly ready to offer Atletico Madrid up to £50m for striker Falcao, while also considering a swap approach involving Fernando Torres.

The former Premier League champions are believed to be willing to let go of their £50m striker in order to lower the price of the 25-year-old, according to the Daily Star.

The Blues are thought to have sent club representatives to watch the star forward on a number of occasions in the last three months.

Ex-Liverpool frontman Torres could be open to a move back to his former Spanish club following a difficult year at Stamford Bridge, which yielded just five goals in a Chelsea shirt.
