Chelsea intend to rebuff any approach made by Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid for full-back Marcos Alonso, according to a report.

Chelsea have reportedly informed Real Madrid that they have no interest in selling Marcos Alonso during the remaining week of the transfer window.

The Spain international, who started his career with the reigning European champions, has emerged as a rumoured target for both Real and city rivals Atletico Madrid.

Both sides are said to be keen to strengthen at left-back and see Alonso - Chelsea's matchwinner against Arsenal at the weekend - as the ideal choice.

According to the Daily Mail, though, the Blues will rebuff any formal approach for the 27-year-old, and the defender himself is also unlikely to push for a return home.

Alonso has been a regular for Chelsea in their Premier League and FA Cup-winning campaigns over the past two seasons.
