Chelsea are allegedly unlikely to make an approach for Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake during the January transfer window.
When Ake departed Stamford Bridge for the Vitality Stadium in 2017, Chelsea included a buy-back clause, which was set at £40m.
With the option due to expire at the end of January, the Blues have been tipped to meet that figure as Frank Lampard considers strengthening his backline.
However, according to The Sun, Lampard's recent show of faith in Andreas Christensen has left any move for Ake increasing unlikely.
The report suggests that the Dane would need to leave Chelsea in order for the West Londoners to commit to such an high financial outlay on another defender.
Christensen has made 12 appearances in all competitions this season, nine of which have come in the Premier League.
