Ajax left-back Nicolas Tagliafico emerges as a potential transfer target for Chelsea, according to a report.

Chelsea could reportedly attempt to sign Ajax left-back Nicolas Tagliafico this summer.

The Blues are expected to be in the market for a new left-sided defender ahead of the 2020-21 campaign due to the uncertainty surrounding the futures of Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri.

Leicester City's Ben Chilwell has been strongly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, but according to Calciomercato, Tagliafico has now emerged as a potential target.

The Argentina international, who has a contract with Ajax until the summer of 2022, has contributed five goals and seven assists in 38 appearances at club level during the 2019-20 campaign.

The 27-year-old helped Erik ten Hag's side win a league and cup double last season, in addition to playing a key role in their run to the semi-finals of the Champions League.

Manchester City have previously been credited with an interest in the South American.
