Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic open to playing alongside Luis Suarez

Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic insists that he would be happy to play alongside Luis Suarez, despite being bitten by the Liverpool forward last season.

Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic has admitted that he would have no problem playing alongside Luis Suarez at Stamford Bridge, despite being bitten by the Uruguayan last season.

The Liverpool forward has been heavily linked with a move away from Anfield following reports that he wants to play Champions League football.

The likes of Real Madrid, Arsenal and Chelsea have been touted as possible destinations for the striker, who was handed a 10-match ban for biting the arm of Ivanovic during a clash at Anfield last season.

According to The Independent, when asked if he would be able to play with the controversial striker, Ivanovic said: "About Luis Suarez, I said straight after the game [in April], whatever happened on the field finished there.

"He's one of the best strikers in the Premier League. I don't have any problem with him or doubt about that."

The West London outfit have also been linked with a move for unsettled Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney.
