Chelsea target John Stones: 'I'm very happy at Everton'

John Stones says that he is "very happy" at Everton following reports that Chelsea have had a £20m bid for the defender rejected.

Everton defender John Stones has insisted that he is "very happy" at the club, following reports that Chelsea have made a bid for the England international.

The Premier League champions have reportedly been knocked back by the Merseyside outfit after launching a £20m bid.

Despite Jose Mourinho's apparent desire to add the 21-year-old to his ranks, the player himself has claimed that he is fully focused on improving at Goodison Park.

"I am very happy at Everton," BBC Sport quotes Stones as saying.

"My aim right now is to try to nail down a regular spot in this Everton team and hopefully that will take care of playing for England. I have to keep learning from the likes of Phil Jagielka and keep progressing at this club."

Stones joined Everton from Barnsley in 2013.
