Report: Chelsea plotting John Stones bid

Chelsea will make a bid for Everton defender John Stones, according to a report.

Chelsea are reportedly preparing a bid for Everton defender John Stones.

The 21-year-old became a regular in the Toffees side last season and it has been reported that they want at least £20m for his services.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is said to be looking at new long-term options at centre-back, with John Terry and Gary Cahill both over the age of 30.

The Blues have been linked with Real Madrid man Raphael Varane, but it is thought that the Frenchman will remain at Santiago Bernabeu.

According to the London Evening Standard, Chelsea will test Everton's resolve by making a bid for Stones this summer.

The England international joined Everton from Barnsley for £3m in 2013.
