Luka Modric happy to stay at Spurs

Luka Modric insists that he will remain at Tottenham Hotspur until at least the end of the season.

Luka Modric has insisted that he is happy to stay at Tottenham Hotspur until this summer and will not be looking for a January move away from the club.

The Croatian was at the centre of a long-running transfer saga in the summer, with Chelsea reportedly having three bids for his services rejected.

Despite stating that he wanted to join the Stamford Bridge outfit, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy stood firm and refused Modric a move across London.

Now Modric, who has been a key figure in Tottenham's excellent season thus far, says that he is happy to stay at White Hart Lane for the time being.

"All that is stated in the press I have read it, but I have no other knowledge about any alleged offers," Modric told Croatian newspaper Sportske Novosti.

"Considering all the circumstances, and the primary fact that I do not want to go through what I did over the summer transfer period, I say that almost 100% will certainly stay at Tottenham until the summer.

"The reality is that I will stay with Spurs until June and then we will see," he added.

Levy is apparently considering breaking the club's wage structure by offering the playmaker a new £100,000 a week contract.
