Report: Gary Cahill's Chelsea future uncertain

Gary Cahill's long-term future at Chelsea is reportedly in doubt after his recent snub from Jose Mourinho's first XI.

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill could reportedly be shown the door at Stamford Bridge as manager Jose Mourinho considers his options.

The England international was dropped from the first XI following the Blues' 4-2 defeat to Bradford City in the FA Cup.

Since then, the centre-back has been replaced by Kurt Zouma, who lined up alongside captain John Terry in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Premier League title rivals Manchester City.

According to the Daily Mail, Cahill's long-term future at Chelsea is in doubt as Mourinho is keen to sign Real Madrid's Raphael Varane and in the meantime is happy with Zouma's performance in that position.

Cahill has been a Chelsea player since 2012 following his move from Bolton Wanderers.
