Report: Chelsea want Diego Lopez

A report claims that Chelsea want to sign Real Madrid goalkeeper Diego Lopez.

Chelsea are reportedly preparing a move for Real Madrid goalkeeper Diego Lopez.

The Spanish stopper has firmly established himself as the number one at the Bernabeu, leaving Iker Casillas to warm the bench for Los Blancos.

Chelsea's current number one Petr Cech's performances have dropped this season, while Barcelona hold a strong interest in Thibaut Courtois, who is currently on loan at Atletico Madrid.

According to A Bola, Lopez's close relationship with Blues boss Jose Mourinho could see the 32-year-old move to the Premier League at the end of the season.

Chelsea's second-choice goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer, meanwhile, is expected to leave Stamford Bridge in the summer.
