Santos refuse to let go of Neymar

Santos president Luis Alvaro Ribeiro is determined not to lose star striker Neymar.

Copa Libertadores winners Santos have insisted that they don’t want to lose star striker Neymar at any cost.

The Brazilian international, valued at £45m, is being pursued by Real Madrid, Chelsea and Juventus.

However, club president Luis Alvara Ribeiro is adamant that the player is much more important to the team than the money.

“Santos are not a bank looking for profits alone,” he told Arena SporTV. “The club want to win titles and money is less important.

“Three of Europe’s clubs have contacted me but I’ve told them that we are not interested in discussing a sale.”

He added that he is equally keen to retain Ganso, who is being sought by AC Milan and Inter.
