Ashley Cole will get 'wage cut' if he leaves for MLS

Ashley Cole can expect wages of £50,000 per week if he leaves Chelsea for the USA this summer, a report suggests.

Ashley Cole will have to accept a reduction in his wages if he wants to leave Chelsea for the MLS, according to a report.

The defender, who is out of contract in the summer, has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge.

Reports emerged on Monday suggesting that the Blues would hold talks with Cole at the end of the season, but Southampton left-back Luke Shaw is reportedly seen as his replacement at the club.

With his future unclear, the Daily Star claims that Thierry Henry has told the England international to join him at New York Red Bulls.

However, Cole would allegedly have to accept wages of no more than £50,000 per week if he did make the move.

He has been with the Blues since 2006.
