Cheltenham Town striker Darryl Duffy is expecting a "tough" encounter against Torquay United in the upcoming League Two playoffs.

Darryl Duffy believes that Torquay United will provide his Cheltenham Town side with a "tough" test in the League Two playoffs.

The two sides have met three times in all competitions this campaign, winning one apiece and drawing the other.

Ahead of the opening leg semi-final encounter at Whaddon Road on Sunday afternoon, Scottish striker Duffy has admitted that it will require "two massive efforts" if the Robins are to reach Wembley.

"It's going to be so tough," Duffy, who became a father for the second time last week, told Sports Mole. "Any of the teams in the playoffs were going to be very hard games.

"We need to be at our best if we want to progress to the final. If we can do that and get to the final then we will have to replicate that again.

"It is going to be two absolute massive games and it is going to take two massive efforts."

The 28-year-old has also called upon his teammates to make home advantage count this weekend before they travel to Plainmoor next Thursday.

Cheltenham have lost just five times in front of their own fans this season, a statistic that Duffy is keen to see remain intact.

"I think it's quite important to take advantage of the home game and to try and take lead into the second game," he added. "If we can do that it will force them to come at us a little bit and that's when we can be at our best away from home as well.

"When teams come at us we can hit them on the break. If we can take a lead from the home leg I think that will be a big advantage for us."

Duffy is Cheltenham's leading goalscorer in all competitions this season, having found the net on 15 occasions.
