Columbus Crew secured their second win in a row in the MLS as they hammered the Philadelphia Union 4-1 at MAPFRE Stadium.
The Crew started the game brightly as they pressed forward and Federico Higuain was afforded space and time to shoot from outside the area, but his strike was saved by John McCarthy.
The home side took the lead in the 21st minute when Ethan Finlay raided down the flank and lifted a cross into the box which was controlled by Kei Kamara, who beat McCarthy with a strike into the bottom corner.
Columbus doubled their lead when Waylon Francis whipped a cross into the box which flew across the face of goal and Finlay applied the finish from close range.
The Crew netted a third goal just before the break as Justin Meram made a surging run through the middle of the Union defence before slotting the ball past McCarthy.
In the second half, Philadelphia gave themselves a glimmer of hope when Eric Ayuk Mbu found the net with a powerful headed effort from a CJ Sapong cross.
However, Columbus secured their victory when Finlay notched his second goal of the game, latching onto a through ball from Kamara and firing low into the bottom corner.
