Former Liverpool and England defender Jamie Carragher has said that he believes Paul Clement has chosen the right club at which to begin his managerial career in Derby County.
The Rams appointed the former Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain number two as their new head coach on Monday, succeeding Steve McClaren.
Carragher believes that Clement's lack of experience as a number one will not work against him at the iPro Stadium.
"Steve McClaren has done a decent job there over the last couple of years so there's ample opportunity for Clement to try and get Derby back into the Premier League where I think he deserves to be," Carragher told Sky Sports News.
"The style of play will be different at Derby but most number twos who have been that successful want to be number one and I think he's picked a good club."
Clement has also had coaching roles at Chelsea, Fulham and Blackburn Rovers during his career.
