Mixu Paatelainen is on the verge of becoming the Dundee United manager, accordng to reports.
The Daily Record claims that the Finn will be officially confirmed by the Tannadice club in the next few days.
The 48-year-old spent four years managing his country's national team but was sacked in June. He also has managerial experience in Scotland with Kilmarnock and Hibernian.
Paatelainen was linked with the job shortly after the sacking of Jackie McNamara.
Approaches were made for Inverness Caledonian Thistle boss John Hughes and St Johnstone also knocked back an approach for Tommy Wright.
The former Finland international played made 169 appearances for United between 1987 and 1992.
