David Bernstein believes that England's players and fans will be safe at Euro 2012.

Football Association chairman David Bernstein believes that England's players and fans should not encounter trouble at Euro 2012.

There have been many warnings in recent weeks of racism and football violence in both the host nations of Poland and Ukraine, most recently from former England international Sol Campbell.

However, Bernstein is confident that if people plan carefully and follow government advice then they will remain safe.

"Hopefully things will go well. We're going into this tournament in every way very positively", Bernstein told Sky Sports News.

"You get some sensational stuff as well around this. We know there are some underlying issues but hopefully it will stay underlying and we won't be faced with these things."

The families of Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have already decided against making the journey.
