England striker Danny Welbeck is expecting to be presented with goalscoring opportunities against Sweden on Friday.

England striker Danny Welbeck believes that he will be presented with goalscoring chances against Sweden on Friday evening.

The 21-year-old was selected ahead of Andy Carroll for Monday's 1-1 draw with France.

However, in his role as a lone centre-forward, the Manchester United player failed to register a single shot on goal.

Despite having a lack of opportunities during England's opening game of the tournament, Welbeck is expecting a more open game against the Swedes.

"I was quite isolated at times but, at that level of football, you're not going to get the possession you are used to and you've got to take it in your stride," he told reporters.

"From a neutral perspective, the Sweden game will be fun to watch. When it opens up, there will be goalscoring opportunities."

Welbeck will reportedly keep his place in the starting lineup for the Sweden encounter.
