England to host Australia in friendly?

England will reportedly warm up for this summer's European Championships with a friendly against Australia in the North-East.

England have reportedly secured a friendly with Australia in the weeks leading up to Euro 2016.

The encounter, which is likely to be hosted by either Newcastle United's St James' Park or Sunderland's Stadium of Light, is expected to be played on Friday, May 27.

According to the Daily Mail, Roy Hodgson's men will then return to Wembley a few days later to face Portugal before they travel to France for the Championships.

The Three Lions last faced the Aussies in February 2003 - a game that marked Wayne Rooney's senior international debut.
