Roy Hodgson starting preparations for Euro 2016

England boss Roy Hodgson says that he is planning for Euro 2016 after his side wrapped up qualification over the weekend.

England manager Roy Hodgson has admitted that he is already planning for Euro 2016 after his side sealed qualification over the weekend.

The Three Lions booked their place in next summer's finals in France with a 6-0 win over San Marino on Saturday.

Hodgson has said that England could use their final two qualifiers against Estonia and Lithuania as part of preparations for the tournament itself if they beat Switzerland in their next match.

"The real blessing is the October fixtures. They are two qualifiers – they are the ones which count," he told the FA's official website.

"We are pretty interested in those two matches in November. France, who I think are a really good team at the moment, we're playing them at Wembley, and Spain, we're playing them somewhere in Spain.

"If I wanted to now, I could give one or two players a rest in the October qualifiers. Hopefully, one point on Tuesday night we will have won the group as well."

England face Switzerland at Wembley on Tuesday evening.
