Sol Campbell feels that England should relieve Gary Neville of his coaching duties and hire him to replace the former Manchester United defender.
The 40-year-old has been out of the game since 2011, when he was released by Newcastle United and subsequently retired, but he feels that his experience could be beneficial to Roy Hodgson's side.
When asked at an event what he would do to improve England's defending, Campbell is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail: "Get rid of Gary Neville and get me in instead. I've done all the badges.
"I'm doing my coaching badges with the Welsh FA. I am on the last year of the pro licence. Whether I'm going to use it straightaway I'm not too sure. Whether I can use it here I don't know.
"But the career I have had should warrant me getting a job."
Campbell made 73 appearances for England, scoring one goal.
