England striker Wayne Rooney: "We have to beat the best"

England striker Wayne Rooney insists that England need to "beat the best" if they want to succeed in the World Cup next summer.

England striker Wayne Rooney has insisted that he is "looking forward" to taking on a "tough" World Cup group in Brazil next summer.

The Three Lions were drawn this afternoon in Group D alongside Uruguay, Italy and Costa Rica.

Following the draw, Rooney wrote on Twitter: "If we want to be the best, we have to beat the best. Tough group but really looking forward to it! Roll on Brazil 2014!"

England will get their campaign underway on June 15 in the scorching heat of Manaus against Italy.
