Espanyol record first away win of the season against Real Sociedad

Diego Colotto scores to help Espanyol move away from the relegation zone.

Espanyol moved away from La Liga's relegation zone this afternoon with their first away win of the season at Real Sociedad.

A quiet first half rarely saw the goal threatened by either side.

Diego Colotto scored the game's only goal from close range in the 77th minute.

The home side pushed for an equaliser in the closing stages but were unable to find the back of the net.

The victory lifts Espanyol up to 16th, while Real Sociedad remain 15th.
