Jack Rodwell has expresses his disappointment at missing out on the Team GB squad for London 2012.

Everton starlet Jack Rodwell has admitted that he is disappointed to miss out on Team GB's Olympic football squad.

Rodwell had an injury-plagued season, suffering with a number of problems including a recurring hamstring issue.

The 21-year-old was gutted not to be selected by Stuart Pearce but is desperate to find fitness and form for his club.

He told Everton's official website: "It is a disappointment but I think it's good for me to get a pre-season as well.

"Obviously I would have liked to have played but I feel like I'm in the right place now, I'm feeling fit, I'm doing a good pre-season and hopefully I'm ready to go for the first game of the season."

Rodwell will be desperate to play regular football at Goodison Park next season after only playing five times for Everton in the final seven months of last season.
