Everton manager Ronald Koeman has claimed that Phil Jagielka's role in Wayne Rooney's antics on international duty is "not a big problem".
Rooney issued an apology on Wednesday for "inappropriate" pictures of him looking bleary eyed while allegedly drinking at the England team hotel in Hertfordshire last Saturday.
The Three Lions captain and international teammate Jagielka were pictured with hotel guests at a wedding party wearing their England tracksuits.
Much of the focus has been on Rooney, but Koeman has revealed that he has spoken to Jagielka about off-the-pitch conduct.
"I spoke to Phil of course but not only about this and other aspects of football," the Liverpool Echo quotes Koeman as saying. "In the case Rooney is not my problem, he's a Manchester United player.
"Phil is an Everton player but it's not a big problem with Phil, he was there and had a drink but it was after the match."
The Football Association intends to review its policy on what players and coaching staff do in their down time in between matches.
