Roberto Martinez has described Everton's tour of the United States as "a real success" despite their 1-0 defeat to Valencia in Miami.
The Toffees, who beat Juventus on penalties before losing 2-1 to Real Madrid, will travel back to the UK for their final friendly match against Real Betis at Goodison Park on Sunday.
"We played Real Madrid, Juventus and Valencia and it has been an important workout," he told the club's official website.
"It has been great for me to get a lot of information on partnerships and individuals in view of the start of the season - from that point of view it has been real success.
"This was the moment to face those sorts of games. We worked hard in Austria to get volume in our legs and we came here to really test ourselves as a team and make sure we understand how we need to go about our football."
Everton face Norwich City at Carrow Road in their first game of the new Premier League season.
