Sports Mole previews Norwich City's Premier League opener against Everton.

Norwich City host Everton for the first match of their new Premier League campaign this Saturday.

The game marks the start of a new era for the visitors as manager Roberto Martinez oversees his first competitive fixture.

Everton had 13 players out on international duty this week, all of whom returned to the club unscathed.

Long-serving defender Tony Hibbert and summer signing Antolin Alcaraz are sidelined for the Blues, while midfielder Darron Gibson is doubtful.

Striker Arouna Kone is likely to make his competitive debut for Everton, partnering Nikica Jelavic, who impressed during the pre-season despite consistently misfiring throughout the last campaign.

Norwich manager Chris Houghton brought in several new faces over the summer, but at least one of them will not feature on Saturday.

Leroy Fer has an outstanding suspension to serve, while former Celtic striker Gary Hooper faces a fitness test after sustaining bruising during the pre-season clash with Panathinaikos.

Anthony Pilkington is doubtful with a knee injury, but the club's record signing Ricky van Wolfswinkel will be on hand to spearhead the attack.

Possible lineups

Norwich: Ruddy; Garrido, Martin, Turner, Olsson; Redmond, Howson, Johnson, Hoolahan, Snodgrass; van Wolfswinkel

Everton: Howard; Baines, Distin, Jagielka, Coleman; Osman, Piennar, Fellaini, Mirallas; Kone, Jelavic

Sports Mole says: 1-2
