Team News: Ricky van Wolfswinkel given Norwich City debut

Ricky van Wolfswinkel is given his Norwich City debut for the opening Premier League fixture against Everton.

Record signing Ricky van Wolfswinkel has been named in the Norwich City side to face Everton at Carrow Road on the first day of the Premier League season.

Van Wolfswinkel will start in attack for the hosts and he is joined in the side by fellow new recruit Nathan Redmond, who starts on the wing.

Gary Hooper has failed to make the squad due to a shin injury and the signing from Celtic will have to wait a bit longer for his own debut.

Roberto Martinez has given Ross Barkely a start in midfield in his first game as Everton manager, with Marouane Fellaini being trusted to provide support for lone striker Nikica Jelavic.

Norwich: Ruddy, Whittaker, Martin, Turner, Garrido, Elliott Bennett, Howson, Johnson, Redmond, Hoolahan, van Wolfswinkel

Everton: Howard, Coleman, Jagielka, Distin, Baines, Mirallas, Barkley, Osman, Pienaar, Fellaini, Jelavic
