Everton manager Marco Silva hopes to attract some "big names" this summer, as he sets out to bring entertaining football back to Goodison Park.

Marco Silva has said that he hopes to recruit some "big names" during his first transfer window as Everton manager.

The former Hull City and Watford chief was officially unveiled as the Toffees' new boss at a press conference on Monday afternoon.

Silva's appointment comes on the back of a disappointing 2017-18 campaign for Everton, which saw Sam Allardyce steady the ship following Ronald Koeman's early-season departure.

Allardyce failed to win over supporters with his bland style of play, though, and the new man in charge has been tasked with bringing some excitement back to games at Goodison Park.

Asked about how his style of play differs from his predecessor, and whether he is looking to bring in any new players, Silva told reporters: "I don't want to compare.

"Now is the moment to prove again; it is a big challenge for us. To win matches you need to create chances and score.

"I have big names. The list is not so big. We will do everything we can to improve. I like to see competition between players every day. It is easy to understand the culture and identity. I know what the fans expect to see every time."

Everton, who finished eighth in the Premier League last season, return for pre-season duty early next month.
