Roberto Martinez admits Everton have chance of signing Andriy Yarmolenko

Everton manager Roberto Martinez says that there is a chance that Andriy Yarmolenko could join the club this month from Dynamo Kiev.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has admitted that there is a possibility of Dynamo Kiev attacker Andriy Yarmolenko joining the Merseyside club this month.

Yarmolenko's agent is believed to have been in the crowd at Goodison Park to watch Everton's 2-0 win over Dagenham & Redbridge in the FA Cup third round last weekend.

Martinez has claimed that he was not aware of the representative's presence, but has not ruled out signing the 26-year-old before the end of the month.

"I never close the door to anything, so yeah we could see a player of that calibre coming here," The Mirror quotes Martinez as saying.

"It's the window and there are a couple of situations that could happen. We want the squad to be stronger but at the same time the squad is too big, it was built for European football, and there are a couple who need to go to get regular football.

"I don't know the identity of everyone who comes to Goodison. We had a cat but he can't play for us. I'm sure there were many other people watching the game that can give you leads to players around the world."

Everton are 11th in the Premier League table after 20 games.
