Roberto Martinez not considering permanent Everton stay for Christian Atsu

Roberto Martinez says that he is not considering a permanent Everton deal for Chelsea winger Christian Atsu once his loan expires at the end of the season.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has claimed that he has no plans as yet to turn Christian Atsu's loan deal into a permanent stay.

The Merseyside outfit finalised the capture of the Ghana international on a season-long loan from Chelsea yesterday.

When asked in today's press conference if he is considering a permanent deal, Martinez said: "No. The loan market is what it is. We always want to use that to our advantage. Here is a really good opportunity for the three parties - the parent club, ourselves and the player.

"All we want is Christian to develop fantastic and unforgettable memories at Goodison with our fans. We hope at the end of this term, he's a better player."

Atsu, who has been on Chelsea's books since the summer of 2013, spent last season on loan at Vitesse Arnhem.
