Marcos Alonso: "We have to play a perfect match"

Marcos Alonso says that Fiorentina are capable of overcoming a three-goal deficit against Sevilla to reach the final of the Europa League.

Fiorentina defender Marcos Alonso has said that his team are capable of reaching the Europa League final.

The Viola suffered a 3-0 defeat in the first leg of their semi-final tie with Sevilla, meaning that they will face an uphill struggle to turn the tie around on Thursday evening.

"Looking at how we played in the first half over there, I think we're capable of turning the tie around," Football Italia quotes Alonso as saying.

"Hopefully we'll have a bit more luck than we did a week ago. Some people think that the team doesn't believe we can do it, but we'll give 100 per cent. With a bit of luck and playing like we did in the first half in Seville, we can do it.

"We have to play a perfect match, and approach it with confidence and optimism: we can't afford any mistakes. In the first leg we faced a team which is on our level, I'm not afraid of anyone."

Fiorentina last reached the final of the Europa League 25 years ago.
