Half-Time Report: No goals at Rodney Parade

Newport County and Fleetwood Town head into half time level after a goalless first half at Rodney Parade.

There were no goals in the first half in the League Two match between Newport County and Fleetwood Town at Rodney Parade this evening.

Both sides had chances for an early goal, with Nathan Pond seeing his header saved for the visitors before Rene Howe sent his effort just wide at the other end moments later.

Howe was involved again later in the half, linking up with Ryan Burge, but the midfielder's attempted lob over the head of Chris Maxwell was saved.

The hosts looks the stronger of the two sides as the break approached, as Tom Naylor came close with a header from deep inside the penalty area, but glanced it just wide.

Fleetwood appealed for a penalty when a cross struck Lee Minshull, but the referee was not convinced that it hit the midfielder's hand.
