Fleetwood Town's faint hopes of automatic promotion have been dented as they could only draw with Southend United.
The visitors looked enterprising in attack early on and went close twice in the opening period, when first Ben Coker and then Barry Corr squandered opportunities to score.
They fell behind when Steven Schumacher's floated free kick beat the heads of everyone in the penalty area, before nestling in the far corner of the net.
However, their lead was short-lived as Coker set up Corr and his header proved too much for keeper Chris Maxwell.
Fleetwood pressed for a winning goal after the break, but Schumacher and Antoni Sarcevic were frustrated in their efforts.
In the end, the Cod Army were forced to settle for a draw, which secures Southend's playoff place.
