Freiburg boost survival hopes with Eintracht Frankfurt win

Freiburg move into the relegation playoff places in the Bundesliga table, recording a 3-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt at the Commerzbank-Arena.

Freiburg have moved into the relegation playoff places in the Bundesliga table after recording a 4-1 win away to Eintracht Frankfurt at the Commerzbank-Arena today.

Christian Streich's troops, who began the game in the drop-zone, recorded a 1-0 half-time lead courtesy of a Julian Schuster strike on 34 minutes.

The visitors doubled their advantage 20 minutes later through Karim Guede before the hosts halved the deficit shortly after thanks to Joselu.

However, Felix Klaus re-established the two-goal advantage for Streich's men on 70 minutes before Guede put the result beyond doubt in the closing stages to boost Freiburg's survival prospects.
