Fulham pair to miss Europa League opener

Carlos Salcido and Clint Dempsey will miss Fulham's first leg Europa League qualifier on Thursday night.

Carlos Salcido and Clint Dempsey are out of Fulham's Europa League qualifier on Thursday.

The Cottagers host NSI Runavik in the first leg of the qualifier in Martin Jol's first game as manager.

Salcido and Dempsey are counted out after appearing in Sunday's Gold Cup final between Mexico and the USA, according to the Fulham and Hammersmith Chronicle.

Meanwhile, Bobby Zamora, who suffered a broken leg last season, is in contention for the bench after returning to training yesterday.

Kickoff at Craven Cottage is 19.30 on Thursday.
