Sports Mole's Saturday League Two round-up

Gillingham continue their impressive start to the season on an exciting Saturday of action in League Two.

Gillingham continued their impressive start to the season with an emphatic 4-0 win over Aldershot Town on Saturday.

Three strikes in the opening half secured a comprehensive lead at the break, while Chris Whelpdale scored a fourth in the second period to make it nine wins from their first 12 league matches.

Cheltenham Town moved into third spot in the table with a 2-1 win over AFC Wimbledon, but Fleetwood Town missed the chance to move into second after losing 1-0 at home to Wycombe Wanderers.

Burton Albion also remain in the playoff picture despite drawing 1-1 with Bristol Rovers. Meanwhile, Southend United and Torquay United scored three apiece as they recorded wins over Rotherham United and Accrington Stanley respectively.

Barnet remain rooted to the bottom of the table after losing 4-1 at home to fellow strugglers Plymouth Argyle, as Edgar Davids' spell at the club got off to the worst possible start.

Morecambe provided some relief from their struggles with a 2-1 win away at Rochdale, while Dagenham & Redbridge were also big movers as they recorded a 2-1 win at Chesterfield.
