Half-Time Report: Huddersfield Town heading for FA Cup upset

Conference side Grimsby Town take a 1-0 advantage into the break of their FA Cup tie against Huddersfield Town.

Championship side Huddersfield Town are 45 minutes away from being knocked out of the FA Cup by Grimsby Town of the Conference at Blundall Park.

The visiting Terriers started the tie brightly and went close to breaking the deadlock with just four minutes on the clock. Danny Ward saw his strike from distance saved, but Martin Paterson could only hit the upright with his rebound effort.

It took the hosts a while to gain some meaningful possession, but when they did, they almost took the lead. First Aswad Thomas saw his shot deflected off target, before from the resultant corner he headed wide of the target.

However, it would be the Conference side that scored the tie's first goal in the 25th minute. Joe Colbeck was the creator, crossing to the back post for Ross Hannah to tap in his ninth goal of the campaign.

The remainder of the half belonged to the away side in terms of possession, but they were unable to respond before the break.
