Ronnie Moore relishing Hartlepool challenge

New Hartlepool boss Ronnie Moore insists that he is looking forward to the challenge of keeping the club in League Two.

New Hartlepool boss Ronnie Moore has revealed that he is relishing the challenge of keeping the club in the Football League.

Pools currently sit six points from safety at the bottom of the League Two table following a dismal start to the season.

Moore will take charge of the team for the first time on Saturday against Oxford United, and the 61-year-old is hopeful of guiding them up the standings in the coming weeks.

"This is a fantastic opportunity, although people might say you are a bit mad: six points adrift but if you look at the goal difference, it's probably seven," he told Sky Sports News.

"Is it the biggest job in English football? Yes, I think it is. If you look at where we are, at the bottom of the league, it doesn't get any worse. But it can only get better as the song goes."

Hartlepool head into this weekend's match with Oxford having lost their last four games in the league.
