Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez is hoping that an FA Cup run could help his side's Premier League form.

The Latics face Huddersfield Town this afternoon with a chance of making it into round six of the FA Cup, however they currently sit 19th in the Premier League.

Their only two wins in 2013 have come in the cup but Martinez is not prioritising one competition over the other.

"We are not taking the opportunity of being involved in the fifth round of this cup competition lightly," he told the Express. "Also, we are taking this as a game to help us find our best form in the league.

"I don't think both competitions should pull against each other. It is the opposite, they should help the team in the same direction.

"The players are desperate to enjoy their challenge, and we should like to include the FA Cup in this vital group of games where we are looking to finish the season on a high."

Wigan take on Huddersfield at 3.55pm this afternoon.
