Championship side Huddersfield Town confirm that they have been granted permission by Coventry City to talk to Mark Robins.

Coventry City have given Mark Robins permission to discuss terms with Championship side Huddersfield Town.

The former Manchester United striker has been heavily linked with the vacancy at the John Smith's Stadium following the sacking of Simon Grayson last month.

It was claimed earlier today that Robins had informed the Coventry board of his desire to talk to the Huddersfield board, only for his wish not to be granted.

However, the League One outfit have now decided to allow discussions to take place.

"Huddersfield Town can confirm it has reached an agreement with Coventry City, who have granted permission for the Club to speak to Mark Robins," read a statement on the club's official website.

"Talks will commence immediately this evening."

Robins took charge at Coventry in September 2012.
