Ryan Mason urges Hull City to "stay positive" following defeat to Chelsea

Hull City midfielder Ryan Mason urges his teammates to "stay positive" following a 2-0 defeat to Chelsea - their third consecutive loss in the Premier League.

Hull City midfielder Ryan Mason has insisted that the team need to "stay positive" after they suffered a 2-0 defeat to Chelsea at the KCOM Stadium this afternoon.

Mike Phelan's side, who have not won a league fixture since August, conceded goals to Willian and Diego Costa in the second half of the clash.

The Tigers have recorded three straight league defeats, and after the international break, they face Bournemouth, Stoke City and Watford before October is out.

"Obviously Chelsea are a top team and have top players, we knew it would be difficult," Mason told BBC Sport. "The second half, we had a crazy 10 minutes and lost our shape. When you go 2-0 down to a team like Chelsea it's hard to get it back.

"We felt in the game and had a few chances, especially in the first half. It's the minor details that make the difference We have a run of games now where we can hopefully pick up some points. We've played four or five top teams. We've got seven points, we need to stay positive and if we play how we did in the first half we'll pick up more points."

Hull are currently 15th in the league table having taken seven points from a possible 21.
