Mike Phelan has revealed that he has still not signed a deal to become Hull City's permanent manager because 'the terms of the contract keep changing'.

Phelan is still in charge of the Tigers on an interim basis, which is a position that the former Manchester United assistant manager has held since Steve Bruce left the club before the start of the new season.

The 53-year-old has led Hull to two wins, one draw and three defeats from their six Premier League matches this term, but has admitted that he is not any closer to penning a contract.

"I am always confident that my future will be resolved. There's a lot of speculation out there," Phelan told reporters. "My own press officer comes to me with the off detailed report of what I'm supposed to be thinking or doing. My side of things is that we are still talking and we will continue to talk until it is resolved.

"What needs to be resolved is the terms of the deal. It keeps changing. One minute I think I've got something and the club are happy with and then the next minute it changes, so it's a case of thinking about all these new changes on the table and coming to a decision."

Hull will attempt to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they welcome an out-of-form Chelsea on Saturday afternoon.
