Sports Mole previews the important Championship fixture between Hull City and Watford.

It would be fair to say that this encounter at the KC Stadium is the biggest match of the season for both Hull City and Watford.

Heading into the clash, hosts Hull find themselves second in the Championship table, four points better off than visiting Watford, who are a place below in third. With that in mind, a victory for the Tigers would see them tighten their grip on an automatic promotion place.

The hosts could be without Alex Bruce, who has picked up a muscular injury, which could see Corry Evans come into the starting lineup.

Meanwhile, Gianfranco Zola's Watford will travel to Humberside armed with an away record that no side in the Championship can better.

From 19 matches, the Hornets have only lost on six occasions. If they are to stand a realistic chance of gaining automatic promotion, they will need to avoid defeat on Tuesday night.

Recent form

Hull: LWLWLW

Watford: WDWLLD

Possible starting lineups:

Hull: Stockdale; Chester, Hobbs, Faye; Koren, Evans, Elmohamady, Meyler, Simpson, Brady; Boyd

Watford: Bond; Hall, Briggs, Cassetti, Chalobah; Ekstrand, Anya, Abdi, Battocchio; Deeney, Vydra

Sports Mole says: 2-1
