Argentina full-back Cristian Ansaldi joins Inter Milan from Genoa

Cristian Ansaldi joins Inter Milan from fellow Italian side Genoa in a deal that sees Diego Laxalt go in the opposite direction.

Inter Milan have confirmed the signing of Genoa full-back Cristian Ansaldi, with Uruguayan attacking midfielder Diego Laxalt going the other way.

Argentina international Ansaldi, 29, spent last season on loan with the Grifone from Zenit St Petersburg.

That deal was made permanent in the summer as Genoa triggered his release clause, but the defender will immediately be moving to San Siro.

"FC Internazionale can confirm that the following transfers have been completed with Genoa CFC," a statement on the Nerazzurri's website said.

"Cristian Daniel Ansaldi has joined Inter on a permanent deal; Diego Sebastian Laxalt Suarez has joined Genoa CFC on a permanent deal."

Ansaldi joins Ever Banega and Caner Erkin in making the switch to Roberto Mancini's side during the close-season.
