Massimo Moratti insists that Inter Milan are not trying to force Wesley Sneijder to take a paycut and says that they will eventually find a solution.

Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has reiterated that they will not force playmaker Wesley Sneijder to sign a new contract.

The Italian club want the 28-year-old to agree on a deal that will see him sign an extension to his current contract and reduce his wage, as the Nerazzurri do not want to pay his annual salary of €6m (£4.8m) any more.

"Our rapport is not frosty as far as I am concerned," said Moratti on Sunday. "There isn't a clear contrast in positions, as we are trying to find a solution that suits both parties.

"We do not want to force anything on anyone. It is a situation that will be broken down only by common sense."

Sneijder joined Inter from Real Madrid in 2009.
