Paul Jewell disappointed with defeat

Ipswich Town's performance against Hull City disappoints manager Paul Jewell.

Paul Jewell has revealed that he is disappointed with his Ipswich Town's side performance against Hull City yesterday afternoon.

Striker Matty Fryatt struck the only goal of the game at Portman Road as the visitors returned to Humberside with all three points.

Manager Jewell bemoaned his team's display but has refused to be too downbeat about the result.

"I said at half-time, if we can't win the game then don't get beat but we gave a bad goal away," the 46-year-old told the club's official website.

"It was a problem for us last season, maybe before that as well. We go forward, lose the ball and then one long ball and they are one-on-one with our defence.

"But I'm not going to get carried away with the defeat, just like I didn't after the Bristol City win last week.

"We didn't create enough chances."

The defeat was Town's second of the week after losing to Northampton Town in the Carling Cup on Tuesday.
